  • Legitimately the most pet-friendly hotel in Tokyo (pets allowed in restaurants)
  • Free evening social hour with wine and kick-ass morning coffee perks
  • District Brasserie's breakfast is widely considered one of the best in the city

Vista ràpida: It's a stylish, vibe-heavy boutique hotel that feels more like New York than Japan, which is great if you want avocado toast and English-speaking staff, but less great if you want dead silence and traditional omotenashi.

Revisat per @nycyorkiegirlsI was blown away by how much they spoiled my dog here. Seeing her name on the welcome board was such a sweet touch, and we loved relaxing in our matching yukatas. It felt like a true luxury getaway for both of us, right in the heart of Shinjuku.

The hype

Reviewers are obsessed with the staff's personality and the pet policy, but often complain about the small entry-level rooms and street noise.

Reality check

You are paying for the vibe and the brand; the hard product (room size) doesn't always match the price tag compared to nearby Japanese luxury chains.

  • You are traveling with a pet (no fees, welcome everywhere)
  • You crave a western-style boutique atmosphere with excellent English service
  • You prioritize a trendy bar scene and social vibe over absolute quiet

Neteja i Manteniment

9.2
  • Housekeeping: Daily and thorough. Guests consistently rate cleanliness highly.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Immaculate. Modern grout and glass are kept spotless.
  • Maintenance: Excellent condition, though one isolated report of a shower leak.
  • Linens & towels: High thread count, crisp and fresh.
  • Odors & scents: Signature Kimpton scent in lobby; rooms are fresh and smoke-free.

  • Earplugs if you end up on a lower floor
  • Your dog's favorite treats (though they provide plenty)
  • Walking shoes – the trek to Shinjuku station adds up

Geni d'Habitacions

Millors opcions

  • Premium King (High Floor) for better views and less noise
  • Junior Suite for actual breathing room and a separate seating area

Habitacions a evitar

  • Essential Rooms (24sqm) – barely enough space to open a large suitcase
  • Low-floor rooms facing the highway (floors 3-6)

Geni de Sol·licitud d'Habitacions – copia i enganxa

I am a light sleeper and would appreciate a room on the highest possible floor, facing away from the Koshu Kaido highway if available. Please avoid the 24sqm Essential layout if my booking allows.

Preguntes freqüents i consells amagats

Tot allò que realment vols saber abans de reservar.

Is it really pet friendly?

Yes, aggressively so. Pets are allowed in the restaurants, elevators, and lobby. No fees, no size limits.

Is there a pool?

No. There is a 24-hour gym, but no pool or spa facilities.

How far is Shinjuku Station?

It's about a 10-15 minute walk. There is a 'WE Bus' stop nearby that loops to the station for 100 yen.

Is breakfast included?

Usually not, unless booked in a specific package. It costs around ¥5,500 ($38) and is à la carte, not a buffet.

Does the hotel feel Japanese?

Not really. It's designed by a NY firm and feels very American/International boutique. Come here for the cool factor, not the tatami mats.

Is there a convenience store nearby?

Yes, there is a Lawson and a FamilyMart within a 2-minute walk.

Consells de Professionals

  • Grab the free 'Kickstart' coffee or tea at The Jones Café before 10 AM – it's often complimentary for guests.

  • Ask the concierge for the 'running map' – it guides you through a perfect route to Shinjuku Gyoen.

  • The 'Essential' rooms often have open-concept bathrooms with little privacy – clarify this if traveling with friends.

5 coses que cal saber abans de partir

  • 💡The 'view' from many rooms is just the Bunka Fashion College building across the street.

  • 💡The bathroom sinks in some rooms are located in the hallway/entryway, not a separate room.

  • 💡You can order room service via a tablet, which avoids language barrier issues.

  • 💡The rooftop bar '86' has a cover charge/minimum spend for non-guests, but you can usually breeze in as a guest.

  • 💡The elevators can be slow during the morning rush due to the small footprint of the building.
