  • Sparkling clean, modern interiors (opened ~2022)
  • Soundproofing that actually silences Madinah Road
  • Olive Terrace for evening shisha and poolside mocktails

Snel Overzicht: It's a shiny, reliable glass box perfect for business or layovers, but you'll need an Uber to see any actual culture.

Beoordeeld door @AsongDefang8507711I’ve stayed at a lot of Marriotts, but this one really impressed me. Walking in to see my name on the TV was such a nice touch. The room in the New Tower is huge and those beds are incredibly comfortable. Definitely ask for the new wing when you book!

The hype

Guests universally praise the extreme cleanliness and the friendly, professional staff, especially at the front desk.

Reality check

The 'City View' is just a view of the highway, and some guests find the breakfast buffet modest for a 5-star rating.

  • You need to be at the airport in 15 minutes
  • You are a stickler for hygiene and new furniture
  • You want a family-friendly pool with a separate kids' area

Schoonmaak & Onderhoud

9.8
  • Housekeeping: Impeccable. Daily service is thorough, and evening turndown is often available upon request.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Sparkling. Grout is white, glass is streak-free. No signs of mold despite the humidity.
  • Maintenance: Like new. The hotel opened recently (circa 2022) and shows almost no wear and tear.
  • Linens & towels: Crisp, high-thread-count white linens and fluffy, oversized bath towels.
  • Odors & scents: Fresh signature Marriott scent in lobby; rooms smell neutral and aired-out.

Voordat je boekt

Goed om te weten

  • Couples must provide proof of marriage upon check-in (standard Saudi law)
  • Uber is the most reliable way to get around; taxis can be hit-or-miss with meters
  • Check-in is at 3:00 PM, but they are often flexible if you ask nicely in advance

Wat je mee moet nemen

  • Modest swimwear for the pool (board shorts for men, conservative suits for women)
  • Universal travel adapter (Type G is standard)
  • Moisturizer (AC is strong and the air is dry inside)

Kamer Genie

Beste keuzes

  • High-floor 'City View' rooms for the best light and least road hum
  • Executive Suites for access to the M Club lounge (worth it for the snacks)

Kamers om te vermijden

  • Low-floor rooms facing the main road (can get headlight glare)
  • Rooms directly near the elevator bank

Kamer Aanvraag Genie – kopiëren en plakken

I would appreciate a high-floor room (7th floor or above) facing away from the main elevator bank. If available, a room with a view of the pool side is preferred over the direct highway view.

Veelgestelde vragen & Verborgen tips

Alles wat je eigenlijk wilt weten voordat je boekt.

Is there alcohol served at the Sky Lounge?

No. Like all hotels in Saudi Arabia, it is strictly dry. The 'bar' serves mocktails, coffee, and tea.

How far is the airport?

Very close. It's about a 10-15 minute drive to King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED).

Is the pool mixed gender?

Yes, it is a family-friendly outdoor pool, but modest swimwear is expected.

Can I walk to restaurants nearby?

Not really. You are on a highway service road. There are a few spots in the Al Bawadi district behind the hotel, but crossing the road is dangerous. Take a car.

Is there a shuttle to the airport?

No dedicated free shuttle, but the hotel can arrange a transfer for a fee (usually pricier than Uber).

Is breakfast included?

Depends on your rate. If not, the buffet at Olive Tree is around 100-120 SAR per person.

Tips van Insiders

  • The 'Sky View' cafe in the lobby has a glass roof and is great for photos, but the real evening vibe is at 'Olive Terrace' by the pool for shisha.

  • Ask for a 'quiet side' room; the hotel is U-shaped and the inner rooms face the pool/terrace.

  • The gym is 24/7 and surprisingly well-equipped with Technogym gear — usually empty in the mornings.

5 dingen die je moet weten voordat je gaat

  • 💡The 'City View' is euphemism for 'Highway View' — it's dynamic but not scenic.

  • 💡The AC is incredibly powerful; you might actually get cold at night.

  • 💡There is a separate kids' pool, which keeps the main pool relatively peaceful for adults.

  • 💡Room service portions are massive — one main course can easily feed two light eaters.

  • 💡The lobby scent is a signature Marriott white tea fragrance that is pumped in quite heavily.
