The And Hotel Sultanahmet

$130-250/ gece

Şu durumda rezervasyon yapın You want to wake up, open your curtains, and practically touch the Hagia Sophia without paying Four Seasons prices.

İnsanlar Neden Seviyorlar

  • Unbeatable location literally 100m from Hagia Sophia
  • Rooftop terrace with 360-degree views of the Blue Mosque and Bosphorus
  • Two elevators (a rarity for boutique hotels in this area)

Hızlı Özet: You are paying for the view and the address, not for modern luxury or spacious rooms.

@makingupforlosttraveltime tarafından değerlendirildiI stayed in this room and the proximity to the landmarks is insane. Stepping out onto the balcony for my morning coffee with the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia right in front of me was a core memory. It's the best way to experience Sultanahmet.

The hype

Guests are obsessed with the view and location but often disappointed by the small room sizes and dated decor.

Reality check

The 'panoramic' photos are real, but the standard rooms can feel like closets with old curtains.

  • Your primary goal is sightseeing in Sultanahmet
  • You want that viral Instagram breakfast photo with the seagulls and mosques
  • You don't plan to spend much time in the room

Temizlik & Bakım

8.5
  • Housekeeping: Daily service is consistent, though they sometimes miss dust on high shelves.
  • Bathroom hygiene: Generally clean tile and grout, but watch out for occasional sewer odors from the drains (common in old Istanbul buildings).
  • Maintenance: Some wear and tear visible—scuffed baseboards, peeling wallpaper in corners, and dated curtains.
  • Linens & towels: Towels are clean but can be on the thin/scratchy side compared to major chains.
  • Odors & scents: Lobby smells fresh; rooms are neutral unless there's a bathroom drain issue.

  • Call to prayer (very loud, multiple times a day)
  • Rooftop restaurant chairs dragging and music (affects upper floors)
  • Street noise from the pedestrian zone

Rezervasyon yapmadan önce

Bilmeniz iyi olacak

  • The hotel entrance is in a pedestrian zone; taxis may drop you 50m away.
  • Alcohol is served at the rooftop bar (not a dry hotel).
  • The 'free parking' is effectively valet; don't try to self-park in these narrow streets.

Ne paketleyeceksiniz

  • High-quality earplugs (wax or silicone) for the 5 AM wake-up call
  • European power adapter (Type F)
  • Walking shoes for the cobblestones right outside the door

Oda Cinisi

En iyi seçimler

  • Corner Panoramic Room (for the dual views of Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque)
  • Rooms with balconies on the 3rd or 4th floor (high enough for views, low enough to buffer roof noise)

Kaçınılması gereken odalar

  • Room 501 (cited as 'way too small' and claustrophobic)
  • Standard economy rooms on lower floors (often face a wall or alley)

Oda Talep Cinisi – kopyala ve yapıştır

I am booking specifically for the view. Please assign a room on a high floor facing the Hagia Sophia, but NOT directly under the restaurant to avoid noise. Please ensure I am not assigned Room 501.

SSS & Gizli İpuçları

Rezervasyon yapmadan önce bilmeniz gereken her şey.

Is the breakfast a buffet?

No. It was previously a buffet but has switched to a set menu (Turkish plate service). Recent reviews suggest it's basic.

Does the hotel have a pool?

No, there is no pool or spa on site.

Is it accessible?

Yes, there are two elevators which is rare for the area, but there are still some small steps at the entrance.

Can I park my car there?

Technically yes, via valet. But driving in Sultanahmet is a nightmare. It's better to not have a car here.

How close is the tram?

The Sultanahmet tram stop is about a 3-5 minute walk.

Is the rooftop restaurant open to the public?

Yes, 'Cihannuma' (or 360 Panorama) is open to non-guests, which contributes to the evening foot traffic and noise.

İçeri Sakıları

  • The rooftop terrace is often empty between 3 PM and 5 PM—perfect for a private photo session without the breakfast crowds.

  • Ask for a room *away* from the elevator shaft; the walls are thin.

  • There is a small grocery store (bakkal) just down the side street for cheaper water and snacks than the minibar.

Gitmeden önce bilmeniz gereken 5 şey

  • 💡The 'sea view' rooms often just have a sliver of the Bosphorus between buildings.

  • 💡The curtains in some rooms are dated and don't fully block the morning sun.

  • 💡Bathroom ventilation can be weak, leading to lingering damp smells.

  • 💡You will hear the tram rumbling in the distance if you are on the street side.

  • 💡The 'orthopaedic beds' mentioned in marketing are quite firm, which is typical for Turkey but jarring for some.
